Wilnara is an artist with a passion for portrait illustration and creating whimsical children's characters. She earned her BFA, in Graphic Design at Rutgers University, Mason Gross School of the Arts, and later earned her Masters, in Organizational Leadership. She spent many years in her creative career as a Graphic Designer working for Gannett Newspapers and eventually for a small advertising agency in Central New Jersey. After several years, Wilnara embarked on her freelance career while raising her family. She has helped many start-ups and organizations build their brands while working on various commissions creating custom portraits, digital art, logos, programs, and more.
She enjoys 'co-laboring' or collaborating with art directors/ clients to create characters that evoke joy and or a little wisdom. Her creative process begins with sketching concepts and evolves into using an array of mix-media; pen and ink, watercolors, colored pencils, markers and eventually scanning and digitally painting her masterpieces using Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator. Wilnara's illustrations can be used for promotional materials such as; corporate annual reports, logos, and or via published media; such as posters, flyers, magazines, books, educational materials, animations, video games, and films. Currently, she is working on her first children's book and is available for commissions upon request.
